Fresh Collective — Community Guidelines

Version 1.0

Fresh Collective is built for connection, participation, learning and belonging.

These Community Guidelines set the behavioural standards that apply across Fresh Collective.

They apply to everyone using the platform, including:

  • Members
  • Creators
  • Collective owners and moderators
  • people participating in Gatherings
  • people using Conversations or Messages
  • anyone contributing content through Fresh Collective

These Guidelines form part of the Terms of Use.

Fresh Collective is for people aged 18 years and over.

Why these Guidelines exist

Fresh Collective is not designed around everyone thinking, behaving or communicating in exactly the same way.

Different Collectives will have different:

  • personalities
  • cultures
  • teaching styles
  • interests
  • perspectives
  • ways of participating

That difference is part of what makes communities valuable.

But meaningful community also needs boundaries.

These Guidelines exist to help Fresh Collective remain a place where people can:

  • participate without unnecessary fear of humiliation or harassment
  • disagree without attacking each other
  • contribute without being exploited
  • share without having their privacy disregarded
  • create without having their work misused
  • build relationships without manipulation or intimidation

Fresh Collective does not require constant agreement.

It does require respect for other people's dignity, safety and boundaries.

The basic expectation

When you participate in Fresh Collective, we ask you to:

Be human. Be respectful. Be curious. Be responsible for the impact of how you participate.

You do not have to:

  • agree with everyone
  • participate in every discussion
  • share personal information
  • be positive all the time
  • avoid difficult topics

You do need to participate in good faith.

Respect other people

Treat other people as people, not as targets, audiences or problems to be defeated.

This includes:

  • speaking respectfully
  • allowing space for different perspectives
  • disagreeing with ideas without attacking the person
  • respecting reasonable personal boundaries
  • avoiding behaviour designed to embarrass or humiliate someone
  • recognising when a conversation is no longer productive
  • respecting a person's decision not to participate

Strong opinions are welcome.

Personal attacks are not.

Disagreement is allowed

Fresh Collective is not intended to become a place where everyone has to agree.

Thoughtful disagreement can be useful.

You may:

  • challenge an idea
  • question an assumption
  • offer another perspective
  • disagree with a Creator
  • disagree with another Member
  • raise concerns about something happening in a Collective

When doing so, focus on the issue rather than attacking the person.

For example:

Okay:

I see this differently. My experience has been...

Not okay:

Anyone who thinks that is an idiot.

The difference is not whether the disagreement is strong.

It is how the disagreement is expressed.

Harassment and intimidation

Do not harass, intimidate or deliberately target another person.

This includes behaviour such as:

  • repeated unwanted contact
  • threats
  • bullying
  • stalking
  • deliberately humiliating someone
  • encouraging others to target someone
  • persistent hostile behaviour after a person has asked you to stop
  • using private information to intimidate someone
  • retaliation against someone for raising a legitimate concern

A single serious incident may be enough to breach these Guidelines.

We do not require someone to endure repeated behaviour before action can be taken.

Hate and discriminatory abuse

Fresh Collective does not permit attacks on people based on protected or personal characteristics.

This includes abusive or demeaning behaviour directed at someone because of matters such as:

  • race
  • ethnicity
  • nationality
  • religion
  • sex
  • gender identity
  • sexual orientation
  • disability
  • age
  • other protected characteristics

Discussion about social, cultural or personal issues is not automatically prohibited because it is difficult or controversial.

The line is crossed where discussion becomes harassment, dehumanisation, threats or discriminatory abuse directed toward people.

Threats and violence

Do not use Fresh Collective to:

  • threaten violence
  • encourage violence against another person
  • celebrate serious harm to another person
  • organise or facilitate violent conduct
  • intimidate another person with threats of physical harm

Credible threats or serious safety concerns may result in immediate action.

Where appropriate, Fresh Collective may also refer serious matters to relevant authorities.

Sexual harassment and unwanted sexual behaviour

Fresh Collective does not permit or tolerate any sexual harassment or unwanted sexual behaviour.

This includes:

  • unwanted sexual comments directed at another person
  • repeated sexual advances after someone has shown they are not interested
  • sexual intimidation
  • sharing sexual material involving another person without appropriate consent
  • pressuring someone into sexual or romantic interaction
  • using a Creator or community role to exploit another person sexually

Consensual adult discussion is not automatically prohibited simply because it involves sexuality.

Context, consent and the purpose of the Collective matter.

Exploitation and abuse of influence

Creators, moderators and other people with authority within a community may hold significant influence.

That influence must be used responsibly.

Do not use your role to:

  • intimidate Members
  • pressure people into purchases
  • retaliate against criticism
  • demand inappropriate personal disclosure
  • manipulate vulnerable people
  • exploit a person's trust
  • threaten someone's access because they disagree with you
  • create inappropriate dependency
  • use private Member information for personal advantage

Creators can set reasonable boundaries and expectations within their Collectives.

That is different from using authority in an exploitative or retaliatory way.

Respect privacy

Fresh Collective communities may involve personal conversations and shared experiences.

Do not treat access to another person's information as permission to redistribute it.

You must not:

  • publish another person's private information without permission
  • share private Messages publicly without a legitimate reason
  • redistribute private Collective discussions outside their intended audience without appropriate permission
  • share private Gathering addresses or access instructions
  • scrape or harvest Member information
  • use Member information to harass or target someone
  • create unrelated marketing lists from Member information
  • sell personal information obtained through Fresh Collective

This does not prevent someone from:

  • reporting misconduct
  • seeking support
  • obtaining professional advice
  • exercising a legal right
  • making a disclosure required or permitted by law

Privacy should not be used as a rule to silence legitimate reporting.

Private Gathering information

Some Gatherings may display general location information publicly while keeping more specific details private.

For example, the public listing may show:

South Croydon, Victoria

while confirmed attendees receive a street address or access instructions.

Private Gathering information must not be publicly redistributed without permission.

This may include:

  • residential addresses
  • gate or entry codes
  • access instructions
  • directions intended only for attendees
  • other private venue details

Protect people's boundaries

Fresh Collective encourages connection, but participation does not create an obligation to become personally available to everyone.

Respect people's boundaries around:

  • Messages
  • social contact
  • physical contact
  • personal disclosure
  • participation
  • friendship
  • professional relationships
  • time and availability

Someone joining the same Collective as you does not mean they have agreed to ongoing personal contact outside that Collective.

Do not impersonate or mislead people

Do not:

  • impersonate another person
  • falsely claim to represent another person or organisation
  • misrepresent your identity in order to deceive someone
  • create fake accounts for deceptive purposes
  • deliberately misrepresent qualifications or experience
  • falsely claim endorsement by Fresh Collective

Creators must describe their experience, qualifications and services accurately.

Fraud and deceptive behaviour

Fresh Collective must not be used for fraud or deliberate deception.

This includes:

  • fraudulent payment activity
  • fake purchases
  • deliberately misleading offers
  • dishonest fundraising
  • deceptive business practices
  • manipulating platform systems to obtain access you have not purchased
  • attempting to bypass payment or access controls

Fresh Collective may investigate suspected fraud and restrict access while an investigation is underway.

Spam and unwanted promotion

Fresh Collective is not a mass-marketing directory.

Do not use community features to:

  • repeatedly advertise unrelated products
  • send unsolicited promotional Messages
  • post repetitive promotional content
  • scrape Member information for external marketing
  • recruit people into unrelated schemes
  • send spam

Creators can naturally talk about offerings relevant to their own Collectives.

The issue is not promotion itself.

The issue is promotion that is unrelated, deceptive, excessive or unwanted.

Creator promotion

Creators are encouraged to communicate clearly about:

  • Gatherings
  • Pathways
  • programs
  • resources
  • new offerings
  • Collective activities

Creators should avoid using pressure, fear or manipulation to drive purchases.

Pricing, availability and important conditions should be communicated accurately.

Promotional activity must comply with applicable law and the Creator Agreement.

Respect intellectual property

Do not use Fresh Collective to improperly copy or distribute someone else's work.

This includes:

  • Creator resources
  • worksheets
  • course material
  • videos
  • images
  • written content
  • branding
  • paid content
  • other intellectual property

Paying for access does not mean you own the Creator's work.

Do not redistribute paid Creator Content unless the Creator has clearly given permission.

Creators must also respect the intellectual property of Members and other Creators.

Content you contribute

You are responsible for content you contribute through Fresh Collective.

This may include:

  • posts
  • comments
  • replies
  • resources
  • profile information
  • images
  • discussion content
  • Messages

Only share material you have the right to share.

Do not knowingly post content that:

  • is unlawful
  • breaches another person's privacy
  • infringes intellectual property
  • is defamatory
  • is fraudulent
  • contains malicious software
  • is deliberately deceptive
  • breaches these Guidelines

Conversations

Conversations are intended to support community discussion.

When participating in Conversations:

  • stay reasonably relevant to the community or topic
  • avoid dominating discussion in a way that prevents others participating
  • disagree respectfully
  • do not repeatedly provoke people for entertainment
  • do not use Conversations to target individual Members
  • respect the access level of the space you are participating in

A Creator or moderator may redirect or close discussions that are significantly disrupting the Collective.

Messages

Messages are intended to support private communication between Members and the people running their Collective.

Do not use Messages to:

  • harass a Creator or Member
  • repeatedly contact someone after being asked to stop
  • send spam
  • make threats
  • send abusive material
  • pressure someone into an inappropriate relationship
  • distribute unlawful content

Sending a Message does not guarantee a response.

Creators are allowed to set reasonable boundaries around:

  • response times
  • availability
  • what support they provide through Messages

Gatherings and in-person behaviour

These Guidelines apply to behaviour at Gatherings as well as online.

When attending a Gathering:

  • treat other participants respectfully
  • follow reasonable safety instructions
  • respect the venue
  • respect physical and personal boundaries
  • do not deliberately disrupt the experience
  • follow reasonable participation requirements communicated by the Creator

Behaviour that would breach these Guidelines online may also breach them when it happens in person.

Serious misconduct at a Gathering may result in removal from the Gathering or Collective.

Physical contact

Some Gatherings may involve physical interaction.

Where physical contact is part of an activity, participants and Creators should respect:

  • consent
  • personal boundaries
  • reasonable safety practices
  • the nature of the activity

Where appropriate, Creators should explain expected physical interaction before or during the activity.

A person should be able to decline non-essential physical contact without being humiliated or pressured.

Health and wellbeing discussions

Fresh Collective may include Collectives involving:

  • fitness
  • movement
  • wellbeing
  • coaching
  • personal development
  • lived experience
  • health-related topics

People may share personal experiences.

Do not present another person's experience as proof that everyone will have the same outcome.

Creators must stay within the scope of their qualifications and responsibilities.

Members should not use community spaces to deliberately provide dangerous or fraudulent health advice.

Where someone requires individual professional support, Fresh Collective community discussion is not a substitute for an appropriately qualified professional.

Harmful or unlawful activity

Do not use Fresh Collective to encourage, organise or facilitate unlawful or seriously harmful behaviour.

This includes using the platform to:

  • commit fraud
  • threaten people
  • distribute unlawful material
  • facilitate exploitation
  • deliberately compromise another person's safety
  • interfere with Fresh Collective systems
  • gain unauthorised access to information
  • commit another serious offence

Fresh Collective may act immediately where necessary.

Security and misuse of the platform

Do not attempt to:

  • access another person's account without permission
  • bypass membership or payment restrictions
  • gain access to private Collective areas without authorisation
  • obtain private attendee information without permission
  • probe or attack Fresh Collective systems
  • introduce malware
  • interfere with platform operation
  • scrape information at unreasonable scale
  • misuse automated tools

Security issues should be reported to Fresh Collective rather than exploited.

Different Collectives can have additional expectations

Every Collective has its own purpose and culture.

A Creator may establish reasonable additional expectations for their Collective.

For example, a Creator may set expectations around:

  • discussion topics
  • session participation
  • communication
  • booking etiquette
  • use of resources
  • confidentiality within a group
  • Gathering behaviour

Additional Collective expectations must remain consistent with:

  • these Community Guidelines
  • the Terms of Use
  • the Creator Agreement
  • applicable law

A Creator cannot use a local Collective rule to override Fresh Collective's shared standards.

Creator moderation

Creators are responsible for helping maintain the communities they lead.

A Creator may respond to behaviour by:

  • checking in with a Member
  • reminding someone of expectations
  • asking someone to change their behaviour
  • removing inappropriate content
  • restricting participation
  • limiting access to community features
  • removing someone from a Gathering
  • removing someone from the Collective

Creators should use moderation powers reasonably.

Not every problem needs formal escalation.

Sometimes a conversation is enough.

Serious behaviour does not require a warning first

Fresh Collective does not require Creators or Fresh Collective to use a fixed sequence of warnings in every case.

Immediate action may be appropriate where behaviour involves matters such as:

  • credible threats
  • violence
  • serious harassment
  • stalking
  • sexual harassment
  • fraud
  • exploitation
  • serious privacy breaches
  • unlawful activity
  • major security concerns
  • another serious risk to a person or the platform

The response should reflect the seriousness of the situation.

Fresh Collective moderation

Fresh Collective may become involved where behaviour:

  • breaches these Guidelines
  • affects more than one Collective
  • involves serious misconduct
  • raises safety concerns
  • involves platform misuse
  • involves a Creator
  • cannot reasonably be managed within a single Collective
  • may be unlawful
  • creates a significant risk to Fresh Collective or its users

Fresh Collective may take action including:

  • reviewing the situation
  • contacting the people involved
  • requesting additional information
  • removing content
  • restricting platform features
  • restricting Collective access
  • suspending Creator functionality
  • suspending an account
  • closing an account
  • taking other reasonable action

Reporting a concern

If something does not feel right, you can raise it.

Depending on the issue, you may choose to contact:

  • the Creator
  • a Collective moderator
  • Fresh Collective

You can report concerns including:

  • harassment
  • threats
  • inappropriate Creator behaviour
  • privacy concerns
  • fraud
  • discriminatory abuse
  • sexual harassment
  • safety concerns
  • serious Community Guidelines breaches
  • platform misuse

You do not need to prove a case before raising a concern.

Provide enough information for the concern to be understood and assessed.

What happens after a report

The response will depend on the situation.

Fresh Collective or a Creator may:

  1. review the information available
  2. seek further information where appropriate
  3. consider immediate safety needs
  4. speak with relevant people
  5. assess the behaviour against these Guidelines
  6. decide what action, if any, is appropriate

Not every report will result in action against another person.

Where action is taken, privacy considerations may mean Fresh Collective cannot provide the person who reported the matter with every detail of the outcome.

Good-faith reporting

People should be able to raise genuine concerns without retaliation.

Do not retaliate against someone because they:

  • raised a concern
  • made a complaint
  • reported behaviour
  • participated honestly in an investigation

Knowingly making a false report in order to harm another person may itself breach these Guidelines.

Being unable to substantiate a genuine report does not mean the report was made dishonestly.

Immediate danger and emergencies

Fresh Collective is not an emergency service.

If someone is in immediate danger or urgent assistance is required, contact the appropriate emergency service or authority.

In Australia, emergency services can be contacted on 000.

Fresh Collective reporting processes should not be used as a substitute for emergency assistance.

Consequences of breaching these Guidelines

The response to a breach will depend on factors including:

  • seriousness
  • impact
  • context
  • whether the behaviour was intentional
  • whether it has happened before
  • whether there is an ongoing risk
  • whether the person responds appropriately when concerns are raised

Possible responses include:

  • a conversation
  • a reminder of expectations
  • content removal
  • a warning
  • restrictions on participation
  • removal from a Gathering
  • removal from a Collective
  • temporary suspension
  • loss of Creator functionality
  • permanent account closure

Severe behaviour may result in immediate suspension or removal.

Membership removal and payments

Removing someone from a Collective does not automatically determine their financial rights.

A Community Guidelines breach does not automatically mean:

  • every payment is forfeited
  • every payment must be refunded
  • a fixed payment commitment disappears

Payment and refund questions are considered separately under:

  • the Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy
  • applicable purchase terms
  • Australian Consumer Law
  • other applicable law

This allows Fresh Collective and Creators to address behaviour appropriately without using community moderation as a substitute for proper payment and consumer processes.

Creator accountability

Creators are subject to these Guidelines too.

Being the person who runs a Collective does not exempt someone from Fresh Collective's standards.

Fresh Collective may intervene where a Creator:

  • seriously mistreats Members
  • abuses moderation powers
  • retaliates against complaints
  • misuses personal information
  • engages in fraud
  • repeatedly ignores serious safety concerns
  • engages in harassment or discriminatory abuse
  • otherwise seriously breaches Fresh Collective's terms

Fresh Collective may restrict or suspend Creator functionality where appropriate.

Context matters

Community moderation requires judgement.

Words, tone and behaviour can mean different things depending on:

  • context
  • relationship
  • audience
  • history
  • intent
  • impact

Fresh Collective and Creators should consider context rather than applying rules mechanically.

At the same time, claiming something was intended as a joke does not automatically remove responsibility for serious harmful behaviour.

Intent matters.

Impact matters too.

Mistakes can be repaired

Not every poor interaction needs to end in punishment.

People sometimes:

  • misunderstand each other
  • communicate badly
  • respond defensively
  • misjudge tone
  • make mistakes

Where appropriate, Fresh Collective encourages:

  • clarification
  • reflection
  • acknowledgement
  • apology
  • repaired boundaries
  • better communication

Accountability and repair can coexist.

The purpose of moderation is not to create a community where nobody ever gets anything wrong.

It is to create conditions where people can participate without serious or repeated harm being ignored.

These Guidelines work alongside other Fresh Collective documents

These Community Guidelines should be read alongside the:

  • Terms of Use
  • Membership Terms
  • Creator Agreement
  • Privacy Policy
  • Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy

The World Guide, Glossary and Our Philosophy provide additional explanation about Fresh Collective's culture and approach.

These Guidelines are enforceable behavioural rules.

The World Guide, Glossary and Our Philosophy are primarily explanatory and cultural material.

Changes to these Guidelines

Fresh Collective may update these Guidelines as the platform and community evolve.

Updates may reflect:

  • new community features
  • new forms of participation
  • emerging safety issues
  • changes in law
  • experience gained through operating Fresh Collective

Where a material change significantly affects users, Fresh Collective will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

The current version will always be available through Fresh Collective.

Our shared responsibility

Fresh Collective can provide rules, tools and moderation.

Creators can shape thoughtful communities.

But culture is ultimately created through thousands of small choices made by the people participating.

The standard is not perfection.

It is participation with care.

Be curious.

Respect boundaries.

Disagree without demeaning.

Share responsibly.

And remember there is a person on the other side of the screen — or standing beside you at a Gathering.
